Concrete Parking Lot Design

I need a new concrete parking lot, where do I start?

The best place to start is getting a permit from your local government, if it’s required.

If permitting is required, the city and/or county will require the area be engineered and blue printed which can include drainage plans, emergency access, sub-grade specifications, mix design specifications, thickness requirements, compaction and density requirements along with striping design and layout which includes handicap spaces and fire code. In this case you’ll need to hire an engineering firm to design your new parking lot.

On the other hand, if your property is not subject to city and county specifications, a professional concrete installation contractor can help you install a new concrete parking lot pretty easily, but it is imperative you use a reputable concrete contractor to help you get a good job that will last. Concrete scammers look at a new parking lot that doesn’t need engineering as a cash cow. They have many dirty little secrets which will increase their profits and leave you with a sub-standard job.

If you have an existing concrete parking lot and need it removed and replaced, be sure to point out any existing drainage problems to the contractor who bids the job so they can rectify them when replacing the parking lot.

We have a long list of reputable paving contractors that will help you with all of your parking lot needs. Request a concrete installation estimate from one of our Local Trusted Concrete Installation Contractors!
